Very good response time and I've been very happy with how fast everything gets taken care of. Not only are the responses fast, but caring as well. We get licensed contractors as opposed to handymen and follow up messages asking if out issues are taken care of. This company has made a complete turn around and it is refreshing. We would have regular handymen coming for major plumbing and electrical issues. A bunch of the tenants were getting lied to and threatened by old management. UPDATE 7.22: Wanted to share an update now that it's been about two months. Keren and Raziya have been excellent to work with since my initial review — communicative, transparent, and clearly committed to making things right with both the move-in and the ongoing house issues. The early experience keeps this from being a 5-star review, but their follow-through has meaningfully changed how I feel about the tenancy, and I appreciate the effort they've put in. Original review: Based on my immediate experiences, I have not had a great experience moving in with Earnest Homes. I TRULY hope that the experience improves going forward, if it does I will update my review accordingly. But for now, this is my honest experience in case its helpful for anyone else who is planning to rent with Earnest Homes. First, I'll say that working with Donna Cura has been great. She's extremely professional, and has been incredibly attentive at answering my questions around lease documentation. Thank you Donna for making the lease process go extremely smoothly. My concerns so far are with the move-in experience. Move in day is supposed to be exciting - you've just made a big commitment to sign a lease, put a deposit / pay first months rent, and have gone through the process of setting up all your paperwork and utilities. Come move-in day I thought I would be receiving SOME level of PROACTIVE communication / outreach about move-in day logistics and a walkthrough of the house. Instead, my move-in experience was the opposite. It felt like after I signed the documents my move-in process was an afterthought. I scheduled a walkthrough around 12:30 PM on a Friday, and was met by Oneda, who was really only there to conduct an inspection of the house. She didn't know how the house was set up or have any instructions for me on how to use the things in the house. I'll go into detail around what went wrong. To be fair, Oneda did a great job going through the inspection and was very thorough and objective at documenting the different issues (e.g., cracks in the tiling, stains, scratches, etc.) Now, where the experience went downhill for me. When we entered into the home, there were a HOST Of things that did not go right: Now, where the experience went downhill. Move-in day surfaced a number of issues: 1) Three electrical outlets were missing their covers — it looked like the team had painted and forgotten to reinstall them. 2) The bathroom faucets had visible grime, suggesting the home wasn't thoroughly cleaned before move-in. 3) The person showing us the house, Oneda, didn't seem familiar with how anything worked. She couldn't operate the electric blinds — I figured it out myself using a remote I found nearby. 4) The previous owner left behind a front door camera and what appears to be a Nest system. No one has explained what they are, who has access, or whether they're still active. That's a real concern with no information provided. 5) I still don't have hot water. I set up SoCal Gas myself, but no one told me where the water heater was or how to operate it. I eventually located it in the backyard and followed both the instructions and a YouTube walkthrough, but couldn't get it working. 6) Most frustrating: I didn't receive the front door access codes until 4:47 PM, more than four hours after my 12:30 PM walkthrough — and only because I chased them down. My 1:40 PM email went unanswered; I called at 4:07 PM, Brian escalated it to my account manager Keren Mendoza, and the code finally came through at 4:47 PM. Even then, the response covered only the door code — nothing on the water heater, blinds, or security system. It has been a very quick turnaround regarding the issues with our AC unit. Management was able to secure a better vendor to inspect the problem, and they ultimately replaced the entire unit. The new vendor was professional, polite, and informative throughout the process. I have been using Earnest Homes as my property manager since March, and have so far been happy them. Refiloe came and appraised our rental, helping us set a good rental price, and ended up getting us a tenant in less than 2 weeks from listing! Additionally, I have found Keren to be helpful and responsive, promptly addressing my questions and concerns. Brian was wonderful. My check came in right before the last day of the grace period, but the check cleared until after the grace period ended. Therefore, i had a late fee. We transferred an occupied home to Earnest Homes. Onboarding was very easy the company was responsive to all of our questions. Now that we've used Earnest a few months I can say they do an excellent job. My expectations are exceeded. The property is a single family home on the west side of Los Angeles. It has been a pleasure to work with our account manager, Keren M. Communication is wonderful regarding repairs and maintenance. I never have a problem reaching my account manager via text, email, or phone call I trust that my tenant is similarly treated with respect and responsiveness. She is incredibly responsive and always quick to address any issues that come up in my apartment, whether it’s something small like a broken fixture or a more urgent maintenance concern. Every time I’ve reached out, she has coordinated reliable professionals to handle the problem promptly and at no cost to me, which has made living here very easy and stress free. Refiloe, Donna, and their team did an excellent job finding us great tenants. The entire process was smooth and well-organized from start to finish. What we especially appreciated was that they never pushed us to accept candidates. Instead, they carefully screened everyone based on our criteria and only presented the strongest applicants, which made our decision so much easier. Their paperwork was also flawless.
